Unified Government Hollywood Casino Fund Grant

The Unified Government Hollywood Casino Fund, administered by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, supports initiatives aligned with Healthy Communities Wyandotte’s mission to foster a healthier lifestyle for residents of Wyandotte County, Kansas. The fund prioritizes culturally relevant programs that promote healthy eating and physical activity through community engagement and the effective use of the county's environmental infrastructure. The fund aims to catalyze sustainable improvements in community health outcomes by targeting knowledge-based interventions and structural enhancements. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Programs must clearly demonstrate that the majority of beneficiaries are residents of Wyandotte County. Grantees will be required to report participant zip code data as part of the grant’s performance monitoring obligations. General operating support may only be requested if it directly supports a significant expansion of services. The fund emphasizes strategic alignment with broader community objectives, including the Wyandotte County Comprehensive Plan and Healthy Communities Wyandotte’s guiding vision. Preferred proposals will demonstrate measurable outcomes, target underserved or at-risk populations, and minimize duplication of services. Collaboration among organizations and leveraging of external private or public funds are viewed favorably in the review process. Proposals seeking funding for capital campaigns, debt retirement, or direct support to individuals, among other exclusions, will not be considered. Applications must be submitted through the Foundation’s grants portal. First-time users must register, and those affiliated with existing organizational accounts must request access via the Foundation's grant support contact. The application for 2026 is open and due April 20. The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation conducts an initial eligibility review. The Board of Commissioners for Wyandotte County serves as the official Selection Committee. Commissioners, along with the Mayor, review current applications and past reports before allocating funding shares, subject to final approval by majority vote at a Commission meeting.
