Community Wellbeing Grant
This initiative provides funding and support for community-led projects that promote mental and emotional wellness for youth aged 0 to 25 in Claremont, La Verne, and Pomona, California.
The Community Wellbeing Grant is administered by the Tri-City Mental Health Authority (TCMHA), a local agency dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing in the cities of Claremont, La Verne, and Pomona, California. As part of its ongoing commitment to mental health and community resilience, TCMHA has developed this grant to empower local communities with the resources and technical assistance needed to promote emotional and social wellness. The grant aligns with the goals of the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA), emphasizing early intervention and community-based strategies that preempt the escalation of behavioral health issues. The primary objective of the Community Wellbeing Grant is to support recovery-oriented, community-driven initiatives that foster resilience, connection, and early access to mental and emotional health supports. The program places a strong emphasis on community self-determination, acknowledging that local organizations and groups are best positioned to understand and respond to the needs of their own populations. Funding of up to $25,000 is available to eligible applicants to implement projects that strengthen the mental and emotional wellbeing of their community members. In addition to financial support, Tri-City provides technical assistance, evaluation support, access to evidence-based trainings, and networking opportunities among grantees. Eligible applicants must be located within the Tri-City region—specifically Claremont, La Verne, and Pomona—and must focus on supporting youth and young adults aged 0–25, as well as other underserved populations. Each applicant must be connected to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit fiscal sponsor, which is responsible for the administration of grant funds. The application must propose a project that directly benefits the identified priority populations, addresses key challenges in the community, and demonstrates potential for sustainability and meaningful impact. The grant cycle for FY 2026–2027 begins with the release of the Request for Proposals (RFP) on March 16, 2026. The final deadline for submission is April 13, 2026, by 12:00 PM PST. Prospective applicants may attend one of two virtual Q&A sessions hosted by Tri-City on March 25 and March 31, with an additional written question deadline on April 1, 2026. Responses to all submitted questions will be published on April 7. Awards will be announced in May 2026, followed by contract finalization. Applications will be evaluated based on eligibility, alignment with the program's early intervention focus, and overall impact. Projects are expected to be sustainable and scalable, with a strong emphasis on data collection, community input, and measurable outcomes. Tri-City will also take actions to ensure equitable distribution of funding across the three eligible cities. For more information, applicants are encouraged to contact Daisy Martinez, the Community Capacity Organizer at Tri-City, via email at [email protected] or phone at (909) 326-4630. This grant opportunity represents a significant investment in grassroots mental health infrastructure and reinforces the vital role of community partnerships in creating healthier, more resilient environments for youth and underserved populations.
