Texas Regional Pathways Network (TRPN) Technical Assistance Grant
This grant provides funding to Jobs for the Future to enhance collaboration among Texas school districts, higher education institutions, and workforce partners, aiming to improve college and career pathways for students, especially those underrepresented in postsecondary education.
The 2026–2027 Texas Regional Pathways Network (TRPN) Technical Assistance Grant is administered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and is federally funded under the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (PL 115-224). This initiative focuses on bolstering regional collaboration among school districts, higher education institutions, and workforce partners across Texas to develop high-quality college and career pathways. The program aims to increase access to industry-recognized credentials, expand work-based learning, and ensure students—particularly those underrepresented in postsecondary education—are prepared for high-wage, high-demand careers. The TRPN grant supports the advancement of Texas' College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) goals by enabling cross-sector partnerships that align educational offerings with regional labor market needs. It seeks to scale coherent pathway designs, strengthen data-informed decision-making processes, and enhance implementation fidelity across education regions. The grant reinforces the infrastructure of TRPN by enhancing the capacity of Regional Conveners and Cohort Grantees through technical assistance, coaching systems, and assessment cycles. The sole eligible applicant for this grant is Jobs for the Future, an organization expected to serve as the technical assistance provider for the broader TRPN network. The grantee must collaborate with TEA to plan and execute project milestones, facilitate weekly meetings and reporting, and deliver targeted supports such as annual technical assistance calendars, webinars, site visits, coaching programs, and professional development events. A key aspect of the grant is the facilitation of continuous improvement through structured performance monitoring and feedback cycles. Allowable use of funds includes salaries for program-specific staff, instructional materials and equipment related to programs of study, and professional development for educators and administrators. In-state travel, conference hosting, and curriculum development are also covered. Out-of-state travel is permitted with justification. Administrative costs are capped at 5% of the total grant and pre-award costs are allowable starting from February 9, 2026, if approved. Applicants are required to comply with various program assurances and statutory obligations, including fingerprinting for employees, submission of a project plan via Smartsheet, and monthly financial/programmatic reporting. The performance of the grant will be evaluated using measures such as the execution of a coaching system, delivery of technical assistance, successful event planning, and the development of high-quality technical resources. Applications became available on March 24, 2026, and are due by May 26, 2026. The grant is not recurring and does not require cost-sharing or matching funds. All communications regarding the grant should be directed to Britina Pesak at [email protected] or (512) 463-9467. Total available funding for this cycle is $1,000,000, fully financed with federal funds, and no portion is derived from nonfederal sources.
