Judith Ann Mogan Foundation Grant
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations and government entities in Coastal Douglas, Coos, and Curry Counties, Oregon, to enhance community well-being through projects in areas like arts, health, and economic development.
The Judith Ann Mogan Foundation (JAMF) administers an annual grant cycle to support community-benefiting projects within Coastal Douglas County, Coos County, and Curry County, Oregon. For the 2026 cycle, the Foundation offers two funding tiers: a Small Grant Program for requests of $25,000 or less, and a Large Grant Program for requests exceeding $25,000. JAMF's mission centers on uplifting communities in its service area through investments across diverse priority sectors, including arts and culture, youth, health, economic development, the environment, and poverty alleviation. This funding initiative supports both established organizations and newer initiatives demonstrating potential for long-term impact. Eligible applicants include Oregon-based 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofits, public agencies (city, county, tribal), schools, hospitals, and organizations working with a qualified fiscal sponsor. The grant cycle formally opened on April 3, 2026, when JAMF's online application portal became accessible. By April 9, applicants could begin submitting applications or LOIs. A Small Grant Workshop was hosted concurrently to provide guidance on application preparation. Each organization may submit up to two applications—either to one program or split between both programs—but awards are not guaranteed and may be for less than requested. The Small Grant application deadline and the Large Grant LOI deadline are both May 4, 2026. From May 5 to May 29, evaluations are conducted, including due diligence. A Large Grant Workshop is scheduled for May 21 to offer further assistance to LOI submitters. On June 5, selected organizations will be invited to submit full Large Grant applications. Throughout June, JAMF staff will conduct site visits for small grant applicants. Award notifications for Small Grants are issued by June 30, and funds are disbursed by July 15. Large Grant applications are due on July 1, and corresponding site visits and Zoom meetings occur between late July and the end of August. Large Grant applications undergo committee review in mid-September, with award notifications issued by September 30. Grant agreements are due by October 5, and award funds are disbursed on October 26. All application materials must be submitted through JAMF's online portal—paper or email submissions are not accepted. Required materials include organizational budgets (2025 annual or 2025–2026 fiscal), financial statements (prior year and interim), and a detailed project budget. New organizations or pilot project applicants must also submit a three-year forecast and a business or pilot plan. Templates are provided to assist with preparation. JAMF evaluates applicants based on several criteria, including clarity of mission, community service record, leadership quality, financial stability, and implementation readiness. Projects must demonstrate S.M.A.R.T. (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, time-bound) outputs and sustainability. JAMF expects co-funding through organizational contributions or other funding sources. The Foundation does not support requests for endowments, scholarships, individual assistance, political or religious programming, or lending. All grantees are required to submit project updates and a final report. Applicants may be contacted for site visits or virtual interviews as part of the evaluation process. For additional support or questions, JAMF can be reached at [email protected] or 541-267-4113.
