Grant Description

The Coverys Community Healthcare Foundation (CCHF) offers its 2026 General Request for Proposal (RFP) Grant Cycle to support innovative healthcare initiatives. Founded with the mission to improve patient care and safety, CCHF focuses its philanthropic investments on projects that have measurable impacts on health outcomes, chronic disease management, and healthcare service delivery. The Foundation is closely aligned with Coverys, a national medical professional liability insurance provider, and expresses a strong preference for projects that serve communities where Coverys policyholders operate. This funding opportunity is open to organizations seeking to address critical health challenges, particularly through new approaches and evidence-based practices. Priority will be given to proposals that aim to address new health needs, improve healthcare quality, reduce costs while achieving better outcomes, and increase support for underserved populations through diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Applicants must provide detailed justification for their projects, including baseline data, defined start and end dates, and clearly articulated goals. A key requirement is a plan to measure and evaluate outcomes, ensuring the grant-funded work is both effective and accountable. The Foundation is particularly interested in funding projects that are scalable and shareable across organizations. Proposals that advance an existing project to a new level, or that improve an established program with measurable results, are also considered. However, there are significant restrictions: grants will not fund endowments, capital costs, or general operations, and proposals requesting a substantial share of funding for routine construction, renovation, or technology will be deemed ineligible. Equipment and technology can only make up a maximum of 15% of the funding request unless otherwise specified (e.g., reporting software at 50% of replacement cost). The Foundation is also unlikely to fund projects in which future personnel costs account for more than 50% of the budget. Eligible applicants must prepare a comprehensive proposal package. This includes a narrative description of the issue to be addressed, an explanation of how CCHF funds will be used, a detailed project budget including other sources of support, and plans for project evaluation. Applications must also reflect a sustainable benefit and indicate the potential for long-term impact and financial viability beyond the grant term. Organizations that distribute grants to other entities, international organizations, or initiatives supporting efforts outside the United States are ineligible, as are applications for individual scholarships or for reimbursable healthcare services. The grant cycle for 2026 officially opens on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. ET and closes on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis within this period. While not mandatory, CCHF will host an informational session via Zoom on March 10, 2026, from 10–11 a.m. ET to explain the application process. Award recipients are expected to submit narrative and financial reports approximately six months after the project start date. All funding must be used exclusively for the approved project with no allocations allowed for administrative or processing fees. For questions or additional guidance, applicants can reach out to the Foundation at [email protected]. All applicants will be informed in writing of the outcome of their request. Due to capacity constraints, CCHF staff are unable to provide individual feedback on declined applications either before or after the review process is completed.
