Baltimore City Arts & Cultural Grant Program
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in the U.S. for various charitable projects, with a focus on arts and culture initiatives.
The Henry and Sylvia Yaschik Foundation is a private philanthropic organization established in 1996. With a mission to support qualified charitable causes across the United States, the foundation operates under the governance of a four-member board of directors who oversee all grantmaking decisions and expenditures. As a private foundation, its primary funding scope focuses on supporting nonprofit organizations that are registered as 501(c)(3) entities under U.S. law. The foundation's grantmaking spans several formats designed to accommodate a range of project timelines and strategic initiatives. Applicants may seek one-time, single-year grants for specific purposes, multi-year grants that require annual reapplication for up to five years, start-up grants aimed at launching new programs, and challenge or matching grants intended to incentivize other fundraising efforts. Applicants are encouraged to clearly specify the type of grant they are requesting and ensure alignment with the foundation’s parameters. The foundation does not support international organizations without a qualified domestic 501(c)(3) representative, private foundations (with the exception of operating foundations), or events such as dinners, galas, or ticketed fundraisers. Additionally, grants for political purposes or lobbying activities are categorically excluded. These restrictions help ensure that funds are directed toward mission-aligned charitable outcomes and verifiable public benefit. Applications for the 2026 grant cycle must be submitted by April 30, 2026. The submission must include a one-page cover letter summarizing the project, the amount requested, and the timeline; a completed 2024 grant application form; a proposal limited to five pages; and all listed attachments. While applicants may submit their materials by mail, overnight delivery, or hand delivery to specified addresses in Charleston, South Carolina, electronic submission is also accepted—provided the full application is compiled into a single PDF file. Financial files with locked formatting may be submitted at the end of the packet if necessary. Each organization is limited to one application per year, regardless of whether it was successful in a previous cycle. Multi-year grantees must still reapply annually to continue receiving funds. Grantees must also provide a certified use-of-funds statement signed by both their accounting firm and CFO within 18 months of receiving grant funds. Failure to submit this documentation will render the organization ineligible for future funding until the compliance requirement is fulfilled. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submissions by June 30, 2026. Inquiries about the foundation or the application process may be sent to [email protected]. Email responses will begin in early February 2026 and are typically issued within a week. While the foundation receives many strong applications, only a limited number can be funded. Applicants are advised to prepare their materials carefully and comply with all formatting and deadline requirements.
