Grant Description

The Global Impact Fund – Cohort 2 is a microgrant initiative launched by Fora, designed exclusively for its alumni from the Global Summit, Rise on Boards, and Rise on Boards+ programs. This funding opportunity allows former program participants to access a small yet impactful grant of $1,000 CAD to implement or scale social impact projects that align with Fora’s mission of advancing transformative leadership and community-based change. By providing this financial support, Fora reaffirms its commitment to investing in the success of its alumni beyond the completion of formal programming. The grant is structured to empower recipients to pursue initiatives that foster tangible positive change in their communities. Applicants are encouraged to propose innovative and community-driven projects that reflect a deep understanding of local needs. In addition to receiving the grant funds, selected recipients will gain access to workshops tailored to advancing their social impact goals. These sessions will offer strategic guidance and equip recipients with tools to maximize project effectiveness, sustainability, and outreach. Eligible applicants must be alumni of one of Fora’s programs. While the fund is open to all alumni, preference will be given to first-time applicants, reinforcing Fora's commitment to expanding the pool of early-stage changemakers. Importantly, applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of their experience level. Fora emphasizes inclusivity and recognizes that strong ideas and passion can emerge from all stages of leadership development. The fund encourages both seasoned project leads and newcomers to propose impactful solutions. The application window opens on December 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST and will close on January 11, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST. Completed applications must be submitted through the official application form prior to the deadline. Applicants will receive updates by email regarding whether they have advanced to the interview stage. All funded projects are expected to begin in May 2026 and must conclude by November 2026. Each microgrant will be distributed in the amount of $1,000 CAD, less any international wire transfer fees, capped at $35 CAD. Funding is intended to support project implementation directly; recipients must plan their budgets accordingly to accommodate any deductions. Fora does not require cost-sharing or matching funds. However, applicants are expected to clearly articulate how the funding will be utilized to drive measurable community impact. This opportunity represents an extension of Fora’s broader vision to nurture and support a global community of empowered young leaders. By enabling alumni to access financial resources and strategic mentorship, the Global Impact Fund helps translate leadership development into real-world outcomes that address local and global challenges.
