The Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Improvement Program, provides dedicated federal funding to state Departments of Transportation for projects that improve air quality and reduce congestion. The CMAQ program improves air quality by funding transportation projects and programs that reduce air emissions from cars, trucks and buses (mobile sources) in air quality non-attainment and maintenance areas, which are the only areas eligible for CMAQ funding.

The Joint Center of Excellence (COE) for Advanced Materials (JAMS) was established in January 2004 to assist in ensuring the safe and reliable application of composites and advanced materials to commercial aircraft. The Center is a joint effort of the Center of Excellence for Composite and Advanced Materials (CECAM) led by Wichita State University and the Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials in Transport Aircraft Structures (AMTAS) led by the University of Washington. The COE is a leader in international coordination of research, development, and standardization for structures constructed from these new materials.The goal of this joint center is to create a cost-sharing academic, industrial, and governmental partnership. The members are forging a union between the public sector, the private sector and academic institutions to create a world-class capability to identify solutions for existing and potential advanced materials and structures issues.The focus of this partnership is the research, engineering and development of information used to assure safety and standardize certification of existing and emerging structural applications of composites and advanced materials. Specifically, projects include the evaluation of past applications, performance of applied research and the development of standard engineering practices. This program provides financial support to state transportation agencies, federal land management agencies, and tribal governments to implement innovative technologies and practices that enhance highway safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

This grant provides funding to state and local governments, tribal authorities, and other eligible entities for large bridge construction, rehabilitation, and replacement projects that improve safety and mobility across the United States.

This grant provides funding for projects that improve wildlife and fish passage by constructing or modifying infrastructure, restoring habitats, and removing barriers, particularly in areas affected by drought.

CAL FIRE's Wood Products and Bioenergy team seeks to maintain and enhance the wood products infrastructure of California to promote healthy resilient forests throughout the state by supporting a diverse set of business development and workforce development projects.  ; Eligible business development projects include facilities, operations, and professional services that support the restoration of healthy, resilient forests.   Eligible workforce development projects include universities, colleges, government and community organizations, and businesses that aim to increase workforce capacity in the fields of logging, fuels treatment, transportation, manufacturing, or other support services that bolster the development of a resilient forest sector workforce.   Research and development projects related to both business and workforce development will also be considered. The HBIIP program offers cost-share grants up to $5 million to fueling and distribution facilities for the expansion of renewable fuel infrastructure, aiming to increase the sales and use of higher blends of ethanol and biodiesel derived from U.S. agricultural products.

The following activities/projects will be eligible for LMIG funds:  Preliminary engineering (including engineering work for R/W plans and Utility plans)  Construction supervision & inspection  Utility Adjustments or replacement  Patching, leveling and resurfacing a paved roadway  Grading, Drainage, Base and Paving existing or new roads  Replacing storm drain pipe or culverts  Intersection improvements  Turn lanes  Bridge repair or replacement  Sidewalk adjacent (within right of way) to a public roadway or street  Roadway Signs, striping, guardrail installation  Signal installation or improvement  Aggregate Surface Course for dirt road maintenance
