The number of participants per event can range from one-two to dozens. The events usually last anywhere from a few days to 6 months, but the average event is approximately one week. Proposals should include a cost estimate based on the administrative costs of organizational processing of plane tickets, lodging reservations, facilities rental, refreshments, bedding supplies, translation, electronic funds transfer, managing conferences and meetings, and other associated costs, which may include transport of training materials and canines. INL understands that costs are estimates and the applicant will not know what fluctuations may exist in pricing over the course of the project period. Therefore, estimates should not be based on individual plane tickets and meeting locations, for example, but rather on the administrative costs of processing participation in capacity-building/training events for participants.
