About This Grant The Paul J. Rickards, Jr. Teaching Innovation Grant program is designed to support instructors with developing and implementing novel teaching strategies. Experimentation, collaboration and the exploration of new approaches to teaching are encouraged. The deadline for submitting a 2024-2025 proposal is May 1, 2024. Program At-a-Glance Focus: This grant program promotes teaching innovation with initial funding up to $5,000 and project support. Eligibility: Any “instructor of record” at the University of Delaware can apply. We welcome proposals from instructors of record across all disciplines and areas of expertise and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration. Support: Along with funding, successful applicants will receive technical support and project management assistance from UDIT Academic Technology Services. Requirements: Grant recipients are required to share what they learn from their project through a presentation, project report, or other method of their choosing. The project team may also be asked to participate in a video interview about the project. Grant renewed every year.

The Preschool Development Grant is a three-year federal initiative designed to bolster Delaware's early childhood system, ensuring it is inclusive and integrated to support the development and learning of all children and their families from birth through age 5. BluePrints for the Community, administered by the Delaware Community Foundation, has contributed over $21 million to the community since its inception in 2007. Community based nonprofit organizations, community development organizations, and social service organizations, or other government entities, are eligible to apply. Preference is given to proposals that fit BluePrints for the Community priority areas, listed below: • Increasing access to health care for uninsured/underserved • Reducing health disparities in minority communities • Supporting early childhood and youth development with initiatives focused on health • Recruiting and training health care professionals • Addressing social determinants of health

The DNREC Green Energy Program in Delaware offers grant funding for renewable energy projects. Applicants are also required to sign over their Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) to the Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility. It is important to note that incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Before submitting a grant application, applicants must complete an energy audit and select an approved renewable energy contractor. After installation and operation of the renewable energy system, applicants must submit grant completion documentation for final approval. Grant payments are typically processed within 10-12 weeks after approval. Grant Opportunity: Energize Delaware Residential Solar Loan Program Description: The Energize Delaware Residential Solar Loan program offers low-interest loans to encourage the purchase of customer-owned renewable generation. The program aims to achieve utility bill savings, reduce environmental impact, and promote local job growth in the solar installation industry. Eligibility Criteria: - Must be a Delaware resident - Must be a homeowner of a single-family home or duplex - Minimum credit score of 650 - Maximum monthly debt-to-income ratio of 40% - Total loan cannot exceed 70% of the total project cost Loan Details: - Total loan amount: $5,000 - $30,000 - Interest rate: 3.9% - Loan term: Up to 10 years Additional Requirements: - Any storage capacity must be priced such that the total system cost does not exceed $6.00/installed watt of generation. - The system must meet specific Green Energy Grant Delaware requirements regarding grid connection, array orientation and tilt, and daily sunshine hours. Application Process: 1. Complete an online application at energizedelawareloans.org. 2. The application consists of two parts: initial and final. 3. After Part I is submitted, applicants will receive an eligibility letter via email. 4. Approved applicants can begin their solar project within three months of acceptance. 5. Once installation is complete, applicants must complete Part II within six months. 6. After Part II documents are reviewed, funds will be dispersed directly to the installer. Payment and Repayment: - Participating installers pay an initiation fee of $100 and must provide state licensing information. - Homeowners will begin loan repayment the month following fund disbursement. - Monthly payments cannot be adjusted. - There is no penalty for prepayment. Contractor Information: - Contractors must register with the program before being selected by homeowners. - Payment to contractors is issued after all Part II documents are submitted, including a signed Authorization Form, Promissory Note
