No cost-share is required for dredging projects in development tier one areas for a ferry channel maintained by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Grant applications are evaluated based on economic, social, and environmental benefits, regional impact, financial resources of the local entity, environmental impact, and direct benefit to state-owned lands. BYOP consists of high school students from Burke County and recognized homeschools who develop philanthropy skills and gain a better understanding of the needs in the county. The Community Foundation of Burke County (CFBC) offers Community Grants to tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organizations that have programs benefiting the residents of Burke County. The grants aim to support programs and projects that promote cooperation and collaboration among organizations without duplicating services. Please note that proposals from outside of Burke County are not reviewed, and grants or loans to individuals are not provided. The One North Carolina Small Business Program offers two grant opportunities for small businesses in the state. The Incentive Funds initiative provides reimbursement to qualified businesses for a portion of the costs incurred in preparing and submitting Phase I SBIR or STTR proposals to federal agencies. A pool of $400,000 is available for these preparation grants in the 2023-24 fiscal year. The Matching Funds portion of the program awards matching funds to businesses who have already received a federal Phase I SBIR or STTR award. In the current fiscal year, a pool of more than $2.4 million is available to support this class of grants. Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2024, or until funds have been exhausted for the program’s 2023-24 fiscal year funding cycle.

The Plus Collective (TPC) will award grants to Charlotte-area organizations serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) community. Grassroots Grants are intended to build capacity and strengthen the effectiveness of startup organizations (with or without 501(c)(3) nonprofit status) whose primary objective is to serve the Charlotte-Mecklenburg LGBTQ+ community, allowing TPC to reach organizations with unmet needs that fall outside of the current Basic Operating and Programs, Projects, and Events (PPE) Grant parameters.
